For churches
A rhythm your whole church can hold at once.
One passage a week, named from the front, discussed in homes. No materials to buy, no leaders to certify, and nothing new on the calendar.
Why it fits
It adds a habit, not a program.
- It doesn't compete with anything
- This isn't a new program to slot into a calendar that's already full. It runs underneath whatever you're already doing, in homes and break rooms and after services.
- It costs you nothing to run
- No kits, no licences, no per-head materials. People already own the text, and the method fits in a sentence.
- It doesn't need trained leaders
- A gathering needs someone willing to host and ask a question. That's a much larger pool than the people you could send through a leadership track.
- It multiplies without you
- Groups split when they outgrow the room, and the people who split off already know how to do it. Growth doesn't route through the church office.
Rolling it out
Four moves, in order.
- 1
Start with one group
Usually staff or a few elders. Do it yourselves for a few weeks before you announce anything — you'll teach it better having done it.
- 2
Name the passage from the front
One reading for the whole church each week removes every barrier to someone joining a group. Everyone is already in the same two chapters.
- 3
Ask people to host, not to lead
“Who'll open their home on Thursday?” gets a very different response than “who wants to lead a Bible study?”
- 4
Let them multiply
When a group outgrows its room, celebrate the split. That's the goal, not attrition.
