Start a group
Two people and a time. That's the whole requirement.
You don't need training, a curriculum, or permission. Most gatherings start because one person asked two others to read alongside them.
How to start
Five steps, and none of them are hard.
- 1
Ask two people
Not an open invitation to everyone you know — two specific people, asked directly. “I'm reading two chapters a day and meeting Thursday to talk about it. Come with me.”
- 2
Pick a day and a place
Same day every week, or it will quietly stop happening. A kitchen table is better than a booked room nobody can find.
- 3
Everyone reads the same two chapters
All week. That's what makes the hour work — four people coming to the same passage from four different weeks of their lives.
- 4
Meet and go around
Each person reads out their takeaways. Ask about each other's. Pray. Say what next week's chapters are. Go home.
- 5
Do it again next week
That's the whole thing. It gets better around week four, when people stop performing and start telling the truth.
What goes wrong
Four ways groups quietly die.
- Don't teach
- You are not the expert in the room, and the moment it becomes a lecture, people stop bringing their own takeaways.
- Don't let it grow too fast
- Past about twelve, the quiet people go silent. Split it and start a second one — that's growth, not failure.
- Don't skip the reading
- A group that meets without everyone having read becomes a catch-up. The reading is the group.
- Don't wait to feel ready
- Nobody feels qualified. You need two people and a time, not a credential.
The app keeps your group's week in one place.
Everyone's reading, everyone's takeaways, prayer requests, and who's gone quiet — so you can lead without keeping a spreadsheet.
