A gathering isn't a program or a class. It's the handful of people you tell the truth to once a week — and it is where reading turns into discipleship.
Finding a gathering
Group discovery lives in the app.
The app shows gatherings near you on a map, with what they're reading, when they meet, and how to ask to join. We haven't brought that to the website yet — so for now, the app is where you look.
It isn't in the stores yet either. Pre-order the book and you're in the first group of testers, which gets you in early.
The shape of it
Small, weekly, and nothing to prepare.
- Meet weekly
- One hour is plenty. Same day, same people, so nobody has to negotiate it every week.
- Two to twelve
- Small enough that everyone actually speaks. Past twelve, split and start a second one.
- Anywhere
- A kitchen, a break room, a dorm, a video call. The room has never been the point.
- No curriculum
- You already have the text and your own takeaways. There is nothing to buy or prepare.
The hour
What actually happens.
- First few minutes Catch up. Ask how the week actually went, not how it's supposed to sound.
- The bulk of it Go around. Each person reads out their takeaways from the week's two chapters.
- As you go Ask about each other's. “Why did that one land?” is the whole discussion guide.
- Last few minutes Pray for each other, and say what next week's chapters are.
